Western Grebes, Rushing
This was one of my goal shots to take. I drove from Utah to San Diego, so I could capture this image. The Western (and Clark’s) Grebes perform this synchronized dance referred to as a rush during their mating season. If you look closely, you will see that they are in step, the bills are at the exact angle as well as the wings. It is an amazing spectacle to watch and it is over within 15 seconds, so I had to be quick on the shutter.
